A humidifier is an essential piece of your HVAC System because it not only gives you comfort, but it maximizes the efficiencies of your furnace.
How may you ask?
During the summer months, humidity might as well be a four letter word. Those warm summer days are made even warmer when the humidity is hovering around 75%. When there is humidity in the air, the air seems warmer because of all the moisture that is in the air. Here is a more scientific answer
When the temperature drops, the amount of water that the air can hold drops as well. During those winter months, we take that already dry cold air and then blow it through “fire” to warm it up and what is produced is a dry heat with little moisture in it.
A humidifier will add moisture back into the air as it leaves your furnace. This does two things:
- Keeps things moister….lips, skin, hardwood, etc…
- Lowers your heating bill because humid air is warmer than dry air. Every time you bump your thermostat 1 degree, your heating bill could jump 5%
A humidifier adds comfort and savings to your Furnace and that’s why we highly recommend them.
